Your Story is What Sets You Apart
Here at ZiaStoria, I know you want the marketing for your business to be a well-oiled machine. But to do that, you need a marketing plan built for your business, one that’s customized, simplified, and cost-effective. The problem is knowing where to start. And not knowing can leave you feeling stuck and overwhelmed. Feelings you shouldn’t have to experience in the pursuit of your creative passion.
I get it because I too am a creative. As an author, designer, and marketer, I know how difficult it is to juggle your creative passions with the demands of running a business. That’s why I’m putting my nearly twenty years of design and marketing experience, along with a lifetime love of storytelling, to work for creative entrepreneurs, coaches, and consultants.
Here’s how I can partner with you:
Story Marketing Strategy

Ciao! And welcome.
I’m Tammy Hooker, a certified marketing strategist + digital marketer and an award-winning graphic designer working in central Vermont. I specialize in developing story-driven content marketing strategies, email marketing programs, and visual designs for creative businesses. And I believe no entrepreneur who’s passionate enough to start a business based on what they love should struggle to successfully market it.
I founded my design and marketing agency, ZiaStoria, to help creative entrepreneurs, coaches, and consultants create tailored marketing strategies that put their brand story front and center.
As a creative myself, I’ve been telling stories since childhood and started writing them down in my teens. I penned my first novel at the age of 15 and haven’t stopped writing since. And when I’m not absorbed in one of my own stories, I’m usually nestled beside the fireplace enjoying someone else’s masterpiece.
Some other things you might be interested in knowing about me…
- I’m addicted to learning and would attend college forever if someone else would pay for it. So I’m always investing in my personal growth to help me discover new ideas, stay on top of best practices, and keep up with trends.
- I’m a proud geek who loves all things Star Wars and Marvel. I read manga and watch anime. And I own several hundred comic books that I’ve been collecting since high school.
- About ten years ago, I discovered Korean dramas (k-dramas) and promptly fell down the Hallyu Wave rabbit hole and now routinely binge-watch k-dramas and listen to almost nothing but k-pop music (and yes, I sing along in Korean).
- I practice the ancient Korean art of knot tying, known as maedeup, from which I make jewelry and other decorative items.
“Tammy took my ideas and went 100% professional with them all the while offering me suggestions, commentary and feedback. It was a true collaboration between my ideas and her skills. I will definitely be using her services again!”christyne butler, author
The Story of ZiaStoria
When you’re passionate about what you do, finding just the right name for your business can be challenging. It’s an endeavor that’s both exciting and nerve-wracking.
I filled an entire sheet of paper with ideas for business names, double-checking each one to see if it already existed (sadly, I crossed many off the list). In the end, I found the perfect name, one that encompasses everything I stand for while expressing the purpose that drives my work.
Here’s how it came about.
It started with family.
I adore my family, including my extended family, which is large and on one side, very Italian. When we get together, we don’t say hello. We shout it. Food is shoved at you the moment you step in the door and every minute after. Even when we’re eating, we talk with our hands. So don’t sit to close and watch your drinking glass. And when we address each other, we affectionately call our grandfathers “Nonno,” our grandmothers “Nonni,” and our aunts “Zia.”
Being a zia is a gift. The day I became one, my life became brighter, fuller. And I’m honored to have the opportunity to help educate, guide, and mold these amazing children into the similarly amazing adults they will no doubt one day be.
When it came to naming my business, including this aspect of my life was a no-brainer. Because my business, like my family, is something I’m passionate about.
It came to life through story.
For as long as I can remember, stories and storytelling have been a part of my life. As a kid, my parents would tuck me in at night and read me literary wonders like Treasure Island, Robinson Crusoe, and a trove of stories featuring fairy tales, myths, and legends. With a childhood imagination fueled by these stories, I eventually started telling my own, and I’ve never stopped.
Nor have I stopped learning about the art of storytelling. Becoming a graphic designer opened my eyes to the world of visual storytelling. As my career blended more and more with the marketing world, I became fascinated with how the same structure that could weave a tale of adventure or romance could not only frame a company’s marketing strategy but drive it.
So with the Italian word for aunt, I paired it with the word for story. In the marriage of these two sits the very heart of what I strive to be for my clients – a coach, a mentor, a guide – who uses storytelling to help you successfully market your business with confidence.
